supreme court cases

christian legal society(CLS) Vs Martinez was a court case where christian legal society wasn't allowed to become a rso at the school. the CLS wanted to become a rso but couldn't because they didn't allow gays into there club because of the religion. Martinez the counselor who decides if clubs are allowed into the rso or not won the case do to it breaking school rules.

Tammy Kitzmiller. v. Dover Area School District,  was the first direct challenge brought in the United States federal courts testing a public school district policy that required the teaching of intelligent design. In October 2004 the Dover Area School District changed its biology teaching curriculum to require that intelligent design be presented as an alternative to evolution theory, and that Of Pandas and People was to be used as a reference book. The plaintiffs successfully argued that intelligent design is a form of creationism, and that the school board policy violated the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution. The judge's decision sparked considerable response from both supporters and critics.

lark v. Martinez was a United States Supreme Court case about the detention of inadmissible immigrants during the deportation process. An alien can be found inadmissible on the grounds of poor health, criminal history, substance trafficking, prostitution/human trafficking, money laundering, terrorist activity,  In the case of Martinez and Benitez where deportation to Cuba is implausible, further detention is unnecessary. The court however did not grant constitutional protection from indefinite detention to inadmissible immigrants. With the decision of Clark v. Martinez, Mariel Cubans who have been under long term detention are to be released from custody
